Why fairy tail protagonist so much criticize and hated by fans 

1. Reckless to the Point of Stupidity 🔥

Well Natsu dragoneel often Charges into fights without plans and in time of battle behave like stupid and shows his lack of self awareness he is in starting acts was too much childish that for any die heart anime fans watching the staring episode always hardest because that time story even that confused which genre it belongs too and he jokes and behaviour looks more pathetic then funny sometime in anime .

He always show second prove of recognise always Ignores strategy even when his allies warn him she is too much focused in the power of friendship that he can believe that anything he can be solved with the power of friendship that also be the second floor that the power of friendship is too much chaotic.  That reveal the another flow in his personality he always seen as reckless and family obsessed  character.

Often wins despite his decisions, not because of them it means that in the fight time whatever he will take the decision he at last won by his power of a recklessness and stupidity.

Problem:

His recklessness gets others injured and causes massive collateral damage while that is Fairy tail anime light hearted anime that why the anime don't show the coast of Power that if you destroy the other persons property even you do or not society can't accept you easily but in the story that scenario not shown by writer .

2. Overdependence on “Power of Friendship” 🤝

Power spikes come from emotional speeches, not skill growth like in naruto one piece and other shonen anime focus on the growth of protagonist power but in fairy tail from entire starting to ending Natsu dragoneel in excluding nearly solo achieved nothing whatever the things you give to natsu he still at last shout thr Power of friendship 

Strength is inconsistent and situational means whatever in next scene or episode the character natsu dragoneel shown there is nothing to see in his saying that his strength growth unlike the other anime where litterly difference shows when the protagonist player goes much strong but in fairy tail everything was starting to ending on same like guildart's erza laxus stronger than him and at last also they are stronger than him so that the question appear that where is his power he was in starting A class wizard and still A class wizard everytime the another villain appears he got the power of from somewhere artefact or anything lineage or something then boom won . That why his Victories feel unearned compared to trained fighters.

Flaw:

Removes tension—if he’s emotional enough, he wins. There in story not much focus on the other things only but in emotional power boost ok that is acceptable that the magic comes from heart but also without that much mess like fairy tail becoming more stronger than them is also available.

3. Poor Intelligence & Zero Tactical Growth 🧠❌

Rarely learns from past mistakes. Well we talk about his practical growth so that is literally zero like in starting of the story he Stolen the geluna island job whatever means punishment in normal cases was the execution from wizard community so Makarov drayar unlike doing something sent the erza and gray to also that mission to help natsu and because of the erza Scarlet was the S class Wizard so that team became team with one S class wizard so no one got the punishment from magic council. And also even winning Same fights with same style from early arcs to final arc.

Needs others (Lucy, Happy, Erza) to think for him. Yaah he need other to think for him in his fighting style he use his all power in one opponent then in battered situation fight with final boss and still win fan started to think at least i started to think that his plot armor can allow him to survive even the earth itself explosion and maybe after floating in space he will land on Mars and continue his story.

He idiocy is necessary part of natsu dragoneel character not the Compared to other shonen MCs which side view only the idiocy and good level joke maje the situation funny like Luffy is also idiot but he is also the leader of his crew not side character in this own team Even the team name is also team natsu but still he is not main part of team .

4. Anger-Control Issues 😡

Easily provoked and try to punch that person which is infront of him this main flow story always try to cover but that the fans which don't like main character to be that emotionally weak don't like .

Also makes irrational decisions when insulted or emotionally triggered which well sometimes lead to end end of scene but still be punch that end and continue the story like the main character story end from Alvarez empire arc ending but because the main character not fully still grown so story dadicate the entire 100 year quest new arc which is going from years to grow him more but still issue is same anger issue.

Enemies manipulate him easily like really that is my opinion that someone will Isekai me in that anime i can't survive because anyone character non fairy tail members the life is so much harsh for them like magnolia citizen one time one trying to shock death one is transferring them to edolas by converting time into the lacrima one time war and many things like story narration is using others to show of for fairytail  members. 

Consequence:

His emotions are weapons used against him and also his friend are also too much sensitive while in real life after year you started to forget everything 

5. Hypocrisy About Morality ⚖️

His characters Claims to hate killing and cruelty Yet he shows no hesitation in brutalizing enemies and every time did that in anime this confuse the fans to character personality 

And he Forgives villains selectively depending on his friend circle like same he did with jellal and whatever but every one he did same but and also care about his friend but less about others like hades Serena Zencrow whatever but lucy if someone say that lucy is weak he has thousands of friend defending formula because how  someone argue with the person which is don't even ready to listen what you are saying freedom of speech not works .

Example:

By him in series Some villains are redeemed, others are destroyed—with no consistent moral logic.

Yaah means fans like anime only because that they connect with there life in real world every where is physics but in fairy tail whatever it is just fairy tail.

In time of big arcs like Alvarez empire arc he Causes diplomatic issues but who cares he is main character he main character do wrong things means those were the right things

His mess Always Leaved cleanup to others side character because yes in story thr side character work is too clean mess of Main character story only 400 year ago from starting from him and even in 100 years quest still mess of natsu dragoneel family.

And yet Rarely reflects or takes responsibility. While after fairy tail zero for few minutes he was serious but after rejoining to fairy tail guild he became same low teir trash protagonist.

Outside Fairy Tail, he’s lost means i means what even he is without main character title maybe someone would to leave him to mental health patient hospital reactivation is also problem

He Would struggle alone or as a leader but congratulations because he never need to be leader because story and narrator is covering this .

Meanwhile, Gray’s rivalry is reduced to a running gag; his complex internal struggles and Ice-Make creativity are consistently overshadowed because the plot demands that Natsu’s heat always triumphs over Gray’s cold. By centering every victory on Natsu, the story treats these deep, multifaceted characters like mere cheerleaders for a protagonist who refuses to share the stage
